The Fire Drill was conducted for the students of St. Mary’s International School, Grade 1 and 2 on Tuesday, 1st April, 2025 by the PT master, Sir.Sundeep Gaikwad. The supervisor, Ms. Sandra Fernandes and the teachers were present for the drill along with all the students in the classroom. The students were initially presented with a brief power point presentation. It highlighted what one must do during a fire, the manner in which students must evacuate, the areas which are considered safe, what should be avoided and how the teacher plays an important role in getting the students out to safety. The students were briefed about the manner in which they should line up in class and assemble on the turf at their designated safe place.

After the presentation, the students had their mock fire drill. The alarm was sounded in class and the students formed lines and headed to the turf in a single file. After which, a head count was taken and further instructions about fire safety were given to the students. The drill provided valuable practice for the young students, reinforcing the importance of fire safety and emergency procedures. Observations noted that all children were able to follow directions well, and that the time taken to evacuate the class was within an acceptable time frame.
