Foundation Stage 2 : Visit to Nehru Science Centre
The children of Foundation Stage 2 visited the Nehru Science Centre on 16th October for an exciting and enriching learning experience. Upon arriving at 9:58 a.m., they first observed the horse-drawn tram and the electric tram, discovering how transportation has evolved over time.
They then explored the Energy Ball exhibit, which demonstrated energy and motion through a fascinating journey along slopes and circular tracks. Next, they visited the Hall of Evolution and Prehistoric Life, where they observed models of dinosaurs and early humans.
A highlight of the visit was the Sound and Hearing Gallery, which connected with the topic of Sound being explored in class. The children experimented with interactive musical exhibits, explored instruments from different eras, and discovered how different objects produce sounds. They also observed the internal structure of the human ear and learnt how we hear and recognise sounds.
At the Light and Sight Gallery, the children enjoyed exploring funny mirrors and optical illusions, discovering how light influences what we see. They also observed the fascinating patterns created by the Harmonograph.
The field trip provided valuable opportunities for hands-on learning, observation, and exploration. It strengthened the children’s understanding of sound, hearing, energy, motion, and light while encouraging curiosity and scientific thinking.
The visit concluded at 11:30 a.m., and the children returned to school with happy memories and exciting new discoveries.
