Finding Their Voices, Sharing Their Stories
The Foundational Stage 2 learners of St. Mary’s International School came together on Tuesday, 1st September 2026, for their much-awaited Plain Speaking Programme, which commenced at 9:30 a.m. in the school auditorium. The programme provided our young learners with a wonderful platform to develop their confidence, express their thoughts, and enjoy the power of spoken language. With great enthusiasm and excitement, the children presented a delightful selection of poems, each one bringing its own touch of humour, imagination, and creativity to the stage.
The programme opened with the FS-2 learners presenting the class poem. Through cheerful words, actions, and lively expressions, the children set the perfect tone for the morning and reminded everyone that speaking can be joyful, expressive, and full of confidence. The young performers then brought a variety of poems to life. Each performance showcased the children's ability to use voice modulation, expression, actions, and clear speech while enjoying themselves on stage.
The audience was treated to moments of laughter, imagination, mischief, and wonder as the children confidently presented their pieces. Their enthusiasm and willingness to speak in front of an audience reflected the growth they have made in their communication skills. The programme concluded with a warm appreciation for the children, whose confidence and joyful participation made the event truly special.
A heartfelt word of thanks was also extended to Ms. Fernandez for her constant encouragement, guidance, and support. The Plain Speaking Programme was a beautiful celebration of young voices where every word spoken was a step towards greater confidence, expression, and self-belief.
