Grandparents’ Day Celebration – “Whirls of Love”
“With you, every little moment becomes a whirl of joy”.
The much-awaited Grandparents’ Day was finally here, and the children of Foundational Stage 1 & 2, along with the staff of St. Mary’s International School, were filled with excitement as they warmly welcomed their beloved grandparents to a special gathering on 24th September 2026.
The morning unfolded around a beautiful theme “Whirls of Love”—a tribute to the warmth, wisdom and unconditional love that grandparents bring into the lives of their grandchildren. The programme began with a warm Welcome Address, followed by a Prayer and Prayer Dance by the children, seeking blessings for all the grandparents and families present. The children then presented a cheerful Welcome Song, filling the air with joy, while the teachers followed with a melodious rendition that celebrated the treasured place grandparents hold in our hearts.
The children then took centre stage with a delightful Fashion Show, creatively portraying the many beautiful facets of a grandparent’s love. Each presentation brought alive how their love is magical and precious, gives us wings, inspires us to dream big, fills our lives with joy, adds a rainbow of love, and brings music to our hearts—and so much more.
The energy soared with a lively Happy Dance, as children and grandparents joined in the merriment. Our enthusiastic grandparents sang, danced, twirled and wholeheartedly embraced every joyful moment with their grandchildren.
Adding an emotional touch to the programme, the children expressed their love through three simple yet powerful words in song -“I Love You.” which brought radiant smiles and tears of joy to the eyes of their grandparents, creating a memory to treasure.
The highlight of the day was seeing the grandparents enthusiastically and sportingly compete for spot prizes, adding an element of fun, laughter and excitement.
The whirling love continued as the grandparents visited their grandchildren’s classrooms, where they were greeted with surprises lovingly created by their little ones—a touching expression of gratitude and affection. The photo booth became another favourite, capturing countless smiles and warm hugs.
The celebration was further enriched by an inspiring address from our Director, Fr. Yohan, who shared meaningful thoughts on the importance of family, love and the special role grandparents play in shaping young lives. The programme concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks by our Supervisor, expressing appreciation to the grandparents, children, teachers and everyone who contributed to the success of the day.
Grandparents’ Day was more than an occasion on the school calendar, it was a celebration of an extraordinary bond that grows stronger with every generation. With little feet twirling, joyful voices filling the air and grandparents dancing with delight, the school was truly wrapped in whirls of love.
