The Grade 1 students presented a meaningful assembly on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The assembly highlighted Gandhiji’s life, his message of truth, kindness and non-violence, and his contribution to India’s freedom struggle.

The students introduced Gandhiji and shared simple facts about his life. They also presented Gandhiji’s Three Monkeys and explained the messages of “See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Evil” in a way that was easy for young learners to understand.

The students then presented the Dandi March and Salt Satyagraha through a short role-play. One student portrayed Gandhiji, while others acted as his followers and walked towards Dandi carrying small Indian flags. The scene of Gandhiji picking up salt from the seashore helped the children understand the importance of the Salt March and peaceful protest.

The assembly concluded with a powerful message to be kind, truthful, honest and helpful. It helped the children to develop an understanding of Gandhiji’s values while also encouraging them to practice these values in their everyday lives.
