First Day at St. Mary’s International School – A Joyous Beginning

The much-anticipated first day of kindergarten at St. Mary’s International School was filled with excitement, curiosity, and warm welcomes. The children arrived with bright eyes and eager smiles, ready to embark on their new learning journey. They were greeted at the entrance by the Director, Supervisor, and teachers, who extended a heartfelt welcome, ensuring that each child felt safe and special. A delightful welcome gift awaited them, adding to their excitement.

The day began with a short prayer, instilling a sense of peace and gratitude. This was followed by a lively fun song that had the children clapping, dancing, and laughing, creating an instant bond among classmates. To channel their creativity, the little learners engaged in a colourful  art activity titled “I am  ready to Shine,” where they expressed themselves through colours and imagination.

It was also the beginning of a new journey for the students of Grades 1&2. After being greeted on their arrival by our Director, Fr. Yohan Alphonso, Supervisor - Ms. Fernandes and the class teachers, the students, in their sharp, new uniforms, eagerly anticipated the adventures that lay ahead.

The teachers reviewed the classroom rules and routines, and also incorporated playful learning activities that allowed children to ease into the academic year.

The day ended with a brief meeting with the parents to review some of the rules  and other requirements.

For children and parents alike, the first day is just the beginning of what will likely be a rewarding year of discovery and personal growth. Whether it’s the first step in learning to read, mastering math skills, or making new friends, the first day at a new school is a memorable experience that marks the start of a bright future.
