As part of the Global Perspectives subject, the students of Grade 2 were taken on a field trip to a Pet Spa. The purpose of the visit was to provide an introduction to the new topic 'Animals and Cruelty to Animals.'
At the spa, the students observed how a dog was groomed and cared for in a safe and hygienic environment. They watched the process of brushing its fur, bathing, and trimming its nails. The staff members explained to the children the importance of grooming, not only for maintaining the health and cleanliness of pets but also as an expression of care and responsibility towards them.
The students were encouraged to reflect on the need to treat animals with kindness, protect them from harm, and ensure their well-being.
The field trip proved to be both educational and enriching. It gave the students first-hand exposure to the idea that animals, like humans, deserve respect, love, and compassion. The experience served as a meaningful start to the discussions on the importance of preventing animal cruelty.
