Building Healthy Futures: A Comprehensive Medical Screening Camp for Young Learners

Healthy Smiles, Happy Hearts, Caring for Children from the Very Start A Medical Screening Camp was successfully organised on 24th July 2026 by The Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai, in collaboration with The Bombay St. Mary's Society and St. Mary's International School. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare and ensure the overall well-being of young learners through routine health screenings.
The camp commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a warm welcome and felicitation ceremony. A dedicated team of 11 medical professionals, comprising paediatricians, dentists, ophthalmologists, and optometrists, along with one Brother and one Sister from The Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, were felicitated by our Principal, Rev. Fr. Yohan Alphonso, Ms. Sandra Fernandes, Supervisor of St. Mary's International School, and Ms. Nisha Mendes, Pre-Primary Supervisor of The Bombay St. Mary's Society, in appreciation of their valuable service and commitment.
Students from Foundational Stage 1, Foundational Stage 2, Grades 1, 2, and 3, along with the Pre-Primary section of the ICSE School, participated in the camp. The children underwent routine health screenings, including general paediatric examinations, dental screenings, vision assessments, and eye examinations. The medical team also recorded each child's height and weight and provided valuable observations and recommendations wherever required.
The camp was conducted in a systematic and child-friendly manner, ensuring that every student received individual attention in a comfortable and caring environment. The doctors interacted warmly with the children, making the experience pleasant, reassuring, and educational. The school expresses its heartfelt gratitude to The Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai, for their dedicated service and unwavering support in promoting children's health and well-being. The Medical Screening Camp proved to be a meaningful and enriching initiative, reinforcing the importance of regular health screenings while fostering a culture of wellness and preventive healthcare within the school community.
